Bad Mommy Blogger

I have been such a bad mommy blogger! It's been umm 6 months since I have wrote about my daughter. Where to even begin.

Sophie J is doing so good. I took her to her 15 month appointment to a new Nurse Practitioner since her pediatrician since birth up and moved to Kalispell, MT. I was not enthused with my new choice. They asked if she was walking & I said yes but was still crawling too. I was given a look as if I'm a terrible mom. Same when they asked how many words she was saying. about 8 total at the time. She was not given her 15 month shots because she had an ear infection. this was her 7th or 8th ear infection now. I was over it. I called an ear, nose, & throat doctor and made an appointment for tubes. They looked at her and said definitely needs tubes. It was such a quick surgery. I can gladly report that she started walking about a week after tubes & repeats just about all words. Including aww shit which her dad taught her. Favorite words of hers now is the infamous NO,No mama, & no no no with a finger point. She is such her own little person.

1 year later {A Birth Story}

1 year later {A Birth Story}

Sophie Joyce

Sophie is the French form of Sophia. A Greek work for “Wisdom”

Joyce is after my grandma Margret (Margie) Joyce who is the kindest person I know.

Two weeks before my due date, which was December 22nd, I went into the doctor for my weekly checkup and we scheduled to be induced. I was done being pregnant & I really didn’t want her to be born on Christmas. I got a lot of people saying “oh it will hurt way worse if you get induced”, blah blah blah. I didn’t care. December 15th, day of induction the hospital called that morning and said they were full so they would call me when a room opened up. We waited all day and they called at around 3 and said still no rooms so they rescheduled me for the next day. Trent had to have a minor hand surgery the next day but we didn’t care we wanted that baby out!  So December 16th came and I called that morning and they said no rooms still. I started balling I felt I was going to be pregnant forever! The hospital called back 15 seconds later saying “Your one of our scheduled inductions so come up. We didn’t realize it was you calling!” Thank you Jesus! I called my mom and she picked me up and we were on our way. I got checked in and gown on. This is it. I felt so excited but scared. My amazing doctor came in about 8AM and started the induction. I didn’t have Pitocin I had the pill they place in your cervix. From 8-12 I had contraction but they weren’t too bad. He came back in at 12PM and broke my water. That’s when all the pain came! I couldn’t sit still it was hurting; I probably looked like I was have seizers! I finally decided to go sit in the jet tub. It was awesome. Still hurt like a bitch but it was more bearable in the tub. As soon as I got out it was contraction on top of contraction. I felt as if I didn’t get a break in between. I didn’t talk much during all this but I do remember telling Trent and his sister Randee to shut up. They were arguing about Trent taking pain medication after his surgery. Like seriously? I would have killed a person for some drugs! My nurse came in and checked me I was dilated to a 5 and you bet your sweet ass I asked for an epidural. My nurse went and called the drug man. She came back and said he’s not answering…BUT your doctor can give it to you. I was so happy! He came and we cheered for him! Haha. After I got my epidural life was good. I had two spots that never did go numb but I was still happy. I hadn’t eating anything all day so of course I barfed all over the floor. Next thing I know my doctor came in and said let’s check you. I was at a 10!!! This was at about 5:30PM. So with just my mom and Trent in the room I started pushing. At 6:05PM there she was, eyes wide just looking at me. That moment I will never forget. My baby girl was finally here!

Sophie Joyce Horswill

Christmas decor & an almost one year old

The day after Thanksgiving I was on the ball & got all my Christmas decorations up. It took a lot longer than i thought with Sophie. She wanted to be held and you can't decorate a tree very fast, but i got it done. Christmas time is my favorite. I love the lights, decorations, and the music. When i was in grade school I used to decorate my room every year. I was a little obsessed! I'm super excited for this Christmas with Sophie. Yes, this is her 2nd Christmas but last year she was a newborn. This year she will be soo much fun, even though i know she will like the boxes better than the gifts. I had a really hard time finding stockings that matched and I liked that were not a fortune. I finally found some at Kmart that I liked and found stocking monograms at Walmart to hang on them for each of us instead of embroidering our names.

My baby will be ONE in 17 days & it makes me sad! Where did this year go? (I will be writing her birth story to post on her birthday too;)) Planning her party is sort of stressful. I wanted to do a penguin themed party, which you think would be easy but let me tell you it's not! Sooo I'm not going to have a theme other than she's 1 & its all about her! But it's still going to be cute :)
She is so busy!!! She is into everything and anything she can get her hands on.

The other night i was cooking dinner and she was kissing the fiber optic snowman I have and next thing i know she bit the nose right off! So now he looks lame...

no nose frosty

Here are some pictures of the house

September 25, 2012 marks 2 years that Trent & I have been together.
Labor day week i went down to Dillon, MT for a concert with some friends. Ended up not making it to the concert but had a blast at a house party anyway.
We were outside and i saw this blue dodge doors open, blarring Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie" (popular song at the time) and i decided to go sit in that truck.I dont really remember our first conversation (due to too many drinks) but he tells me as i was leaving he asked for my phone number and i replied, "Only if you can remeber it". I guess he liked that answer. :) He texted me that following weekend and we went on a sunday drive through Wise River. He worked out of town during the week so we only saw each other on weekends but there was a Dierks Bently concert on a Wednesday or Thursday and he came in for it and we had a blast! he brought me home that night and he was supposed to work the next day in Great Falls, we sat out in his truck until 3:30 that morning lol and then he drove 2 hours to Great Falls to work. I knew he must have really liked me then ;)

And you smiled and said to me
"Are you gonna kiss me or not?
Are we gonna do this or what?
I think you know I love you a lot
I think we've got a real good shot
Are you gonna kiss me or not?"

9 months & more!

I havent blogged since my very first post but do i have lots to share!

Trent has been working out of state for about 2 or 3 months now and it sucks! I cant wait until he is done with his apprenticeship! He has been in Oregon, Utah, and now Colorado. He was able to come home for 2 weeks about 3 weeks ago so that was nice. We went to Virginia City and took an old fashion picture with Sophie.

Trent is now is Steamboat Springs, CO and we dont know when he will be able to come home. :(
It's hard but i know its just temporary.

and now it's about my Sophie J. She was 9 months old on the 16th. I cant believe it!
We went to the doctor today for her well check and he said she looks great even for being so small. She is freakishly flexible but he said her hips are good. So i think she will either be a yoga teacher or a dancer! i moved her into a pack-n-play about a week or so ago. Yes she still sleeps in our room & no I dont care what others think about it. She has been sitting up for awhile now and is attempting to crawl with many face plants. She holds her own bottle occasionally & still has 0 teeth!

15.8 lbs
27 1/4 inches long
her head is big :)

new blogger & a carousel

Well here I am joining the blog world! I decided this was the most realistic way to keep memories of what my little girl is and will be doing. I really should have started this about 8 months ago, but oh well! better late than never.  :)

Trent, Sophie & I went to Helena for the day on Saturday to do a little shopping. Went to Target (my fav!) and went to Murdoch's where we got miss Sophie J the cutest carhart flannel shirt and matching jeans! I'm hoping to have her 9 month pictures taken in that!

Trent has a friend he worked with there and we met him & his family at the carousel. I have never been there and i must say it was pretty neat. They have a big carousel indoors with ice cream and food. I didn't take Soph on the carousel, it seemed a little too fast for her just yet. But she LOVED watching it!
